lithium daphnae (2013) for heckelphon, viola, and piano

lithium daphnae is a rondo type composition from my student years and is dedicated to my former bassoon teacher, Harry Searing, who at his suggestion served as the inspiration for the title, an anagram of Paul Hindemith’s name. it is approximately 6-7 minutes.

It was premiered by Sabine Kaselow (oboe), Christoph Stark (viola) and Jens Hoffmann (piano) at the Kammermusiksaal der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock, Germany.

the score can be purchased here

ps. lithium daphnae was one of the works that used my very stupid penname yasamune toyotomi that i stopped using in 2015 as it was way too embarrassing.
