deconstructed (2015) for woodwind quintet

Utilizing as little of the flute, clarinet, and bassoon as possible,"deconstructed' was composed in Shanghai, China. The condense pitch material and rhythmic content is inspired by Antonin Artaud's "Théâtre de la Cruauté" and my experiences in Shanghai.

It was premiered at the Imani Woodwinds Chamber Music Festival on June 14, 2015 by Delara Hashemi (flute), Kailin Eskander (oboe), John Antisz (clarinet), Bryn Coveney (horn), and Anna Fitzgerald (bassoon).
